They say that every artist has their own muse. If this is true, is it not logical to assume that every artist also has his or her own demon? In the case of the famed Leonardo Da Vinci, the artist’s vision and creativity went well beyond his years. Was it just pure inspiration or something much darker? Perhaps a clue can be found in Mona Lisa grin. They say if you stare long and hard enough you too will see what lies behind that insidious grin. But be warned, Leonardo’s been long dead and Mona’s still looking to possess…ah, I mean, she’s still looking for a little “artistic freedom.”

Ghoulish Factoid: Recently, we learned that one of our competitors borrowed our idea of doing a changing portrait based on Mona Lisa. While there had been some other Mona Lisa based spooky art out there, no one had done a Mona Lisa changing portrait (or a fine art based changing portrait for that matter) prior to The Ghoulish Gallery. Out of hundreds of classic art pieces out there, our competitor curiously chose to do a changing portrait of the very same classic art piece that we did only a few short months earlier. We put out a pretty awesome line of changing portraits so naturally we’re used to having our work copied. We try to take it all in stride, remembering that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Our latest color-to-color version of the Mona Lisa is by demand, a sort of an encore piece to our original, for our fellow haunters and Halloween enthusiasts who did not feel it was exactly fair for our competitor to make a comparison between his color-to-color portrait and our earlier color-to-sepia portrait. Hope you like it! And to our competition, thanks for the compliment! Its nice to know The Ghoulish Gallery still sets the standards.
